Adding a widget

Home Screen

1. Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
2. Tap the + button in the top corner and search for Bigday.
3. Choose Small, Medium or Large and tap Add Widget.
4. Touch and hold the new widget, tap Edit Widget, then choose the event and the style.

Lock Screen

1. Touch and hold the Lock Screen, then tap Customize › Lock Screen.
2. Tap the area below the clock (or above it for the inline widget) and pick a Bigday widget.
3. Tap the placed widget to choose the event, then tap Done.

Tip: with more than one event, add one small widget per event, or use the Large widget in the Up next style (Pro) to see them all.

The widget shows the wrong number or is not updating

• Bigday counts whole calendar days and turns over at midnight in your current time zone. If you have just travelled, the count follows the local date.
• Open the app once. That refreshes every widget immediately.
• Make sure the widget is pointed at the event you expect: touch and hold it, tap Edit Widget.
• iOS can delay widget refreshes in Low Power Mode or right after a restart. They catch up within a few minutes.
• If a widget looks blank, remove it and add it again. This is a known iOS quirk after app updates.

Restoring Bigday Pro

Open Bigday, go to Settings and tap Restore purchases, or open the Pro screen and tap Restore. You must be signed in to the App Store with the Apple ID that bought Pro, or belong to the Family Sharing group that includes it. If it still does not work, email us with the date of purchase and we will help.

Cancelling the yearly subscription

Open iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Bigday Pro › Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current year ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.

Want to keep Pro without a subscription? Buy the Lifetime plan from the Pro screen, then cancel the yearly plan. You will not lose anything.

I hit the two-event limit

The free version includes two events so you can try Bigday fully. Adding a third shows the Pro screen. Pro is a one-time $2.99 and unlocks unlimited events, every theme, photo backgrounds, and every widget style.

iCloud sync

Events sync through your own iCloud account. On both devices, check Settings › your name › iCloud › Apps Using iCloud and make sure Bigday is on. Sync usually completes within a minute while both devices are online. If an event shows on one device only, open Bigday on each device and wait a moment. We cannot see or recover your events; they are only ever in your iCloud and on your devices.

Reminders are not arriving

• Check iOS Settings › Notifications › Bigday and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
• In Bigday, open the event and check which milestones (30, 7, 1 day, on the day) are enabled.
• Reminders are scheduled locally when you save the event. If you changed the date, save the event again.
• Focus modes can silence notifications. Add Bigday to the allowed apps for that Focus if you want them through.

Photo backgrounds

Photo backgrounds are a Pro feature. Tap an event › Edit › Theme › Photo and choose up to five photos. Widgets show a different photo each day. Photos are stored on your device only and are never uploaded to us.

Deleting my data

Swipe left on an event to delete it. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove Bigday data from iCloud, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Bigday › Delete Data from iCloud. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Requirements

iPhone running iOS 17.0 or later. Bigday is designed for iPhone and is not available for iPad, Mac or Apple Watch at this time.
